Direct thermal labels do not require a ribbon to print. They are made of a heat sensate material that is directly activated by the print head.
Direct thermal labels are good for short term labelling needs, such as FMCG items, offering fast and reliable printing. The print will however fade over time and is susceptible to heat and direct sunlight. They are therefore not suited to long term storage uses.
Our direct thermal labels come in two varieties:
Thermal Economy – used for short term labelling. This is a good option for clod store environments.
Thermal Top Coat – used for short to medium term labelling. This option is more resistant to heat and will last longer in more adverse conditions.
